At times there may be government or developer incentives to buying. At the time we purchased our home, there was a government incentive for first home buyers where you did not have to pay stamp duty on properties under $500,000. So, we decided early on that we would purchase for only under $500,000, and therefore not have to pay stamp duty.
Since then we have seen more incentives (either through developers or through the government) where you do not have to pay stamp duty if you bought land, even if you were not a first home buyer.
It is well worth researching if there are incentives in your areas of interest for buying. Particularly if you are a first home buyer. What incentives are there for buying a first home?
Note, always check official government websites to make sure the incentives you hear about are not a scam.
As you investigate these, ask yourself, are any of these relevant to my situation?
Go on, do your research and write down any that may be relevant for you. What government (or other) incentives exist for first home-buyers?
I won’t keep you waiting any longer, let’s get into one of the most important areas to paying your home loan off faster.
